KIDS OF GRIME X Y'OH
"Up-and-coming fashion designer and professional pattern cutter Kara Messina is an artist and intellectual whose work reflects her dedication to the craft and ongoing pursuit of knowledge. With a background working for award-winning footwear designer Nicholas Kirkwood and high-end designer John Richmond, as well as pattern-cutting for designer labels Basso & Brooke and Aquascutum, Messina is launching her own menswear label, Y’oh, for spring 2011. Taking her cues from other disciplines and cultures, Messina has an open-mindedness and fascination with people from all over the globe that she incorporates into her incredible menswear designs, which aim to fill a need and “provide a service” rather than function simply on an aesthetic level." - fullfrontalfashion.com
