STOP, DROP, SHUT EM DOWN OPEN UP SHOP

This is my homage to one of my favourite rappers in the game I remember first hearing
X on Limp Bizkit's Urban Assault Vehicle Remix of Rolling where he KILLS it
and ever since then I've been a fan.
Below is a link to that song if you ain't heard it I suggest you give it a listen - it also features
Red and Meth but X is the one to listen out for.

SLICKRICK x PENNYFARTHING

Photobucket

This is my recent piece I have been working on, due to all the different elements in the piece it took me a little while longer than usual to finish it.
If you hadn't guessed from the title its Slick Rick on a Penny Farthing.
I'm still not sure about the background - I'm going to try a more detailed background and compare the two and send the best one of for the competition.

BERNIE MAC

I recently watched 'I Ain't Scared of You: A Tribute To Bernie Mac' it was a really touching documentary, I was always a great fan of The Mac Man, from his TV show to his appearances on Charlies Angles, Oceans 11 just to name a few and of course his hilarious stand up. This is my tribute illustration to him. Below is his first appearance of Def Comedy Jam. Basically the comedian before him had just been booed of stage, Bernie Mac saying 'I aint scared of you motherfuckers' was not planned in his act it was how he was actually feeling!!! Which makes the stand up just that more funny to watch.

The colouring Style I am using here is a new technique in which I use a simple flat coloring style, then take the image I am drawing from and place it behind and show that background and one texture. Gives the illustration a real Edge.

BIRO x KREAYSHAWN

This is my first time using biro again since last year, I haven't used it for
a while - mainly because you can't get the shading variety you can get with a pencil
but I felt like giving it a go. Got a feel for it again and cracked on with the
colored image of Kreayshawn as the image lines are not as smooth
as my pencil work I decided to go with a more simple
coloring style to compliment the illustration
and feel it has worked well.
