This is in fact is the smoothest image I have ever made, after a convo I had the other night

I decided to have a crack at this thing they call vector. This is my first attempt at using it

with my little character. It will also come in handy

due to the fact I will be able to blow up this image and not have horrible pixelated pencil lines

instead have nice smooth even lines.

More vector line work soon.

Pagan with no game..

The other day someone described some one to me as a

"pagan with no game"

as well as bringing me a lot of jokes it also parked an idea in my head, seeing how

I am an illustrator therefore a visual communicator.

Realisticly I should be able to do a picture of a pagan with no game. So I looked into the word pagan, in slang terms pagan is a person of authority or a snitch/ informer.

So I decided make the pagan a rat, now as this wasn't too obvious I thought that

I would have actual pagan symbols shaved into the rat. Then to show no game have two women giving him the finger and walking away. I am very happy with out the image has turned out, I have experimented in sticking with my personal style but branching it out to animals and humans

and I am like the results.

I was going to do a illustration of Mickey the Pikey from Snatch but as there

are so many out there people have done,

I thought Id twist the idea.

CARICATURE: Angelina Jolie

Back to caricaturing, I haven't done a caricature since last summer!!! So I thought

Id test my self to see if I still got it.

And I have to say teamed with my new evolved style Its working quite well.

Who knows what will be next..

I felt this was quite an iconic scene from the film and the fact that I am a

Mickey Rourke fan made it even more

appealing for me to do the image.

Here I am still experimenting with color pencil, with flat color and negative space

trying to get the balance just right along with introducing simple backgrounds.

I thought Id break away from my little characters for a minute and go back

and do some realistic expressionistic illustration

CUT-OFF

This is an image inspired by my job as an ice marshal ending

bit drastic I know but I am VERY happy

with how the image has turned out.

Like I said in my previous post I am trying to merge my realistic faces work with my

personal work, I also feel that the contrast between

the colored pencil, and the flat color on his face give the image an nice edge.

This image was inspired from reading Slash's autobiography which if you haven't read..

Go cop a copy now its SICK. Anyway there is a part in the book when he is in a resort

and for one reason or another he hallucinates that

he is being chased all through the hotel by mini Predators (the film)

So i thought Id switch it up and have him surrounded by my little characters.

The idea of combining realistic faces with my characters was suggested to me by a friend of mine, and I am very glad she did so as I'm really enjoying the result.

For my next illustration I will be taking this idea to the next level.
